I got the idea to make these city clocks when I was sitting in an airport terminal in Tokyo, waiting for a flight back to LA, and I noticed an international time display. The display was a line of generic, circular, clocks with the name of the city on a plaque under each clock. I thought to myself that there had to be a more creative and elegant solution to displaying international time than just writing the name of the city under each clock. When I got back to my studio, I designed the Tokyo city clock in memory of my trip.
